$160M Investment to Build 157 New Classrooms in Auckland and Upper North Island

Education Minister Erica Stanford announced a $160 million investment to build 157 new classrooms and expand school facilities across Auckland and the upper North Island, including funding for a new secondary school in Kumeū and relocation of Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ngāringaomatariki to a permanent site. The investment also includes $25 million for 26 learning support classrooms for students with additional needs and funding for six redevelopment projects to upgrade ageing school facilities. This initiative aims to address growing community demands, improve school conditions, and ensure cost-effective delivery of educational infrastructure.
