Nelson Hospital to Build New Multi-Storey Car Park Adding 270 Spaces

Nelson Hospital is progressing with a new multi-storey car park project located off Tipahi Street, which will add approximately 270 spaces and improve access, traffic flow, and connectivity across the hospital campus. Health New Zealand has released a Request for Tender for its design and construction, with work expected to start in early 2027 and take 12 to 18 months to complete. This development is part of broader hospital upgrades, including a temporary 28-bed inpatient unit and plans for a new 128-bed unit, aimed at enhancing healthcare infrastructure for the Nelson, Tasman, and Marlborough communities.
