Germany and New Zealand Strengthen Antarctic Cooperation for Research and Environmental Protection

The Governments of Germany and New Zealand, both committed to the Antarctic Treaty System, collaborate to promote shared interests in Antarctic research, environmental protection, and operational knowledge exchange between their National Antarctic Programmes. They emphasize protecting Antarctica's peace, demilitarization, and environmental integrity, advocating adherence to Treaty principles and coordinating governance with relevant legal frameworks. To strengthen cooperation, the Participants will engage in regular dialogue, support scientific collaboration, and meet annually to discuss mutual interests related to Antarctic governance and research.
