New Te Mahia Pedestrian Bridge Boosts Safety and Supports Auckland Rail Link

A new pedestrian bridge at Te Mahia Station, opening on 24 August, replaces a rail level crossing to improve safety, accessibility, and support the City Rail Link by allowing more frequent trains and reducing delays. This bridge is the second of three pedestrian bridges replacing crossings in Auckland, with funding accelerated by the Government and Auckland Council to enhance the rail network and prepare for future growth. Additional projects include three road bridges on the Southern Line and planning to remove up to 21 level crossings on the Western Line, aiming to create a safer, more efficient transport system for Aucklanders.
