The Bill clarifies the role of DSS, confirms the importance of family and whānau support, and responds to Supreme Court issues regarding carers, while maintaining existing services and funding. With a record $2.1 billion investment and ongoing reforms, the Bill aims to stabilize and sustain disability support, benefiting around 55,000 disabled people and 26,000 children annually.
